The Heart of Juliette: A Postal Tradition

Founded on the banks of the Ocmulgee River, Juliette, Georgia, is a town where time slows down and Southern hospitality thrives. Originally a bustling mill town, Juliette gained international fame as the primary filming location for the 1991 classic Fried Green Tomatoes. Today, visitors flock to the iconic Whistle Stop Cafe to experience the charm of “Whistle Stop” for themselves.

Since 1994, Juliette has partnered with the town of Romeo, Michigan, to offer the famous “Romeo and Juliette” dual postmark. This unique philatelic tradition allows sweethearts and collectors worldwide to have their mail stamped by both towns, symbolically uniting the star-crossed lovers. This 2026 “Celebrating Love Station” commemorates over three decades of this romantic alliance, proving that in Juliette, the spirit of Valentine’s Day stays in bloom all year long.
