Esta celebración trasciende el tiempo, uniendo el 6 de mayo de 1840 con el de 2026. La filatelia se convierte en un puente que cruza el Atlántico, conectando dos mundos simbólicos.

El evento rinde homenaje al primer sello postal del mundo, el Penny Black, uniendo a la Reina Victoria con la revolucionaria comunicación universal prepagada. Por otra parte, el encuentro se ancla en el trópico, bajo la vigilancia de las antiguas murallas de San Juan, Puerto Rico.

La importancia radica en reconocer cómo la filatelia no solo preserva la historia de grandes imperios, sino que captura la identidad de islas que han sido testigos de este intercambio cultural. Un pequeño papel que contiene la vastedad de un océano de historia.
