Dos Siglos en el Corazón de Comerío (Bicentenario) - Comerío, PR
Two Centuries in the Heart of Comerío
In 1826, in the mystical valley originally known as Sabana del Palmar, a town destined for greatness was born. As Comerío celebrates its bicentennial this June 12, 2026, it proudly commemorates a rich history woven by nature, hard work, and faith.
The indomitable La Plata River, with its historic hydroelectric power, propelled the progress and development of the entire region. Simultaneously, the fertile green fields of the tobacco era recall the sweat, toil, and sustenance of generations of people from Comerío. At the heart of its culture, the majestic parish church stands tall and eternal, embracing the faith and identity of a united community that commemorates two centuries of Puerto Rican heritage.
