In the geographic heart of Puerto Rico, where the mountains of the Central Mountain Range rise majestically, the bicentennial history of Comerío beats. Before transforming into a bastion of Puerto Rican culture and trova singing, this territory was known as Sabana del Palmar, a rural area dominated by extensive palm groves and fertile plains along the path of the La Plata River. Following the tireless efforts of local settlers, the foundation of the independent municipality was officially consolidated on June 12, 1826.
